How to Register for a Course

Pre-registration and pre-payment are required for all courses. Use the secure payment link below to register using a credit/debit card, eCheck or your PayPal account, and  an acknowledgement will be e-mailed to you. If you prefer to pay by cash or check, an invoice will be e-mailed to you, but prompt payment is then expected. Receipt of your payment will complete your registration. Late payment may result in loss of your seat in the course. 

Pre-registered, pre-paid students may reschedule to the next course that has an available seat, provided that advance notice is given so we may have the opportunity to fill the seat with another student. 

Student materials will be issued at the start of the course. Firearms, ammunition, eye/ear protection (as applicable to the course) will be furnished by the Instructor, and a morning coffee break is provided.

Current Course Schedule

Register Now! NRA Basic Pistol at the Hartford Gun Club: Regularly scheduled group courses. The club is in East Granby, CT (south of Westfield, MA), which is convenient to residents of western MA, northern CT and the bordering counties of NY. The facility includes a large classroom and indoor shooting range, and there are at least two NRA Instructors per class. Comprehensive 8-hour course includes live fire instruction. See the Basic Pistol page for more information. Start time is 9:00 AM sharp.  The course fee is $130.00, and pre-registration is required. Upon completion, students receive both NRA and MA State Police certificates. Note that the MA State Police certificate is required for all new MA license applicants. The next course dates are:

NRA Basic Pistol at Other Locations: Group courses are ocassionally scheduled at other locations. The next course location is as shown below. The course fee is as noted in the drop-down menu below, and pre-registration is required. Live fire on the shooting range is included. See the Basic Pistol page for more information. Register Now! NRA Home Firearm Safety: Group courses are scheduled upon demand. The next course location is as shown below. The course fee is as noted below, and pre-registration is required. This is a non-shooting, classroom course that meets MA training requirements for FID and both resident and non-resident LTC. See the Home Firearm Safety page for more information. The next course dates are:

• Sunday, October 3rd at the Stockbridge Sportsmen's Club. Start time is 9:00 AM in the top floor of the main hall. Course length is 4 hours. This course meets MA requirements for both LTC and FID. Fee is $60.00. The club is located on Route 102, approximately 1-3/4 miles east of the center of West Stockbridge, or 1-1/2 miles west of the Berkshire Botanical Gardens (Rts. 102 and 183). 

Register Now! NRA Range Safety Officer: Group courses are scheduled upon demand. The next course location and additional information is shown below. The course fee is as noted in the drop-down menu below, and pre-registration is required. See the Range Safety Officer page for more information. The next course dates are:

• Sunday, September 26th at the Hartford Gun Club. $100.00 fee. 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM. See link at bottom of page for directions.
• Saturday, October 30th at Cabela's in East Hartford. In the meeting room adjacent to the Candlewood Gill on the second floor. The first 25 who register will be in the 9:00 AM course, and the second 25 who register will be in the 2:00 PM course. Cabela's will give all attendees a merchandise discount coupon which is good until 12/31/10. You will also receive our special course completion certificate which has just been approved by the Florida Dept. of Licensing! Click here for directions.
